Alan King

Having started working life as a trainee chef at The Ritz, in 1969, I quickly realised the unsocial working hours weren't for me and took up a career in the Civil Service. I started writing about food in 2003 as a house reviewer for london-eating with my partner Phillip Azevedo. I shrugged off the shackles of the Civil Service in October 2008, at which time I was invited to join the foodepedia website when it set up. For three years I was reviewing restaurants, food, beverages and more there. I wrote for both sites under the name akandpa, there are a lot of Alan Kings out there.
