Richard Johnson

"I have presented Full on Food (reporting on everything from the birthplace of coffee to the rise of the organics business) and Kill It, Cook It, Eat It (about the role of meat in our diet) for the BBC. I am the supertaster that judges the food on ITV's Taste The Nation and Channel 4's Iron Chef. And I'm currently the man giving the thumbs up (or down) to contestants on Channel 4's Cookery School. I've been a drinks columnist for the Independent, and a food columnist for The Guardian. And I'm a regular contributor to the Food Programme on Radio 4. I have been working as a consultant for Trudie Styler and Sting on their new Lake House Table range. So I know the food business inside and out - after all these years, I should. And most of all, I know what I like. I like to eat where I feel relaxed. Most often, it's on the street, not worried in case someone is going to point at me because I've got gravy on my chin. I want everyone to have access to good, cheap, local food - for me, the revolution in British street food has been a long time coming."
