Here, we round up some of the latest food products and innovations to have launched onto the market...

Everyone loves a product launch. Whether it’s a new version of your favourite food, or a handy gadget to use in your kitchen, there’s always something to get excited about.

So here, we’re going to take a look at some of the latest product launches on the market.

Clippy’s apple preserves

If you love jam, then you’re bound to want to get your hands on this stuff! A Manchester couple has created the UK’s first ever commercially made apple jam

Michelle McKenna (known as Clippy due to her love of hairclips) and her partner, Paul Gorman, have created a range of apple and other preserves which have recently hit Tesco store shelves.

Behind the business (which is operated from the couple’s tiny spare room) is a passion for British apples and an aim to help stop the decline of the country’s disappearing apple orchards.

The preserves are jam-packed (excuse the pun!) with fruit, and they can be used for a range of culinary delights – for example, with cheese, meats and other dishes.

Products include apple and figgy chilli relish, apple pie conserve, apple, mango and chilli chutney, and apple and strawberry conserve.

Guaranteed to be delicious, you can view the full range from Clippy’s Apples here. Prices start from £1.99.

Maille’s mustard with honey

Who can resist the superbly tangy taste of mustard? Well, now, there’s a new twist to your Dijon, with the launch of the Maille Dijon mustard with honey

It’s a subtle balance between soft, sweet honey and smooth, powerful Dijon mustard which is perfect as a glaze on roast chicken and turkey or simply for using in salad dressings. The RRP is £1.49.

We’re sure it will tantalise your taste buds!

Costa Light

If you religiously grab a coffee on your way into work each morning, but you’re concerned about the calories, Costa Coffee may just have the answer.

That’s because it’s launched a new coffee that’s only 80 calories – Costa Light. The coffee is made with a single shot of espresso and fresh skimmed milk which is then frothed up to create a milder, well-balanced, light but indulgent coffee.

You can pick one up from just £2.15 – perfect for those of you who can’t go without your coffee fix.

Tefal ActiFry Plus

If you’re after a healthier way to cook your chips, be sure to take a look at the Tefal ActiFry Plus. It’s the latest addition to the ActiFry range and offers 20% more healthy chips than the original ActiFry.

Perfect for 4-5 people, the ActiFry Plus allows you to cook oil-free chips from frozen. If you’d rather use fresh potatoes, simply add a spoonful of oil for great chips with only 3% fat.

But you don’t only have to use it for cooking chips. You can also cook foods such as curries, stir-frys and sausages!

ActiFry products use a rotating mixing paddle so you won’t have to pre-heat, shake, stir or mix. It really is a fabulous invention!

You can pick up the ActiFry Plus in black or white for the RRP of £204.99. Find out more about the ActiFry range on the Tefal website.

Brita water filters

Drinking filtered water really does make a difference. But now you can jazz up your boring water filter jug by using one of these brilliantly colourful 'Marella' collection filter jugs from Brita

You can enjoy colours such as funky purple, jungle green, classic blue and jazzy red – perfect for brightening up your dinner table or kitchen.

As well as looking so much better than the uninspiring white ones most of us have, they are also designed to fit in your fridge door and help to reduce chlorine and limescale. As a result, your water will contain fewer impurities and will taste, look and smell far better than non-filtered water.

Buying one of these water filter jugs will set you back just £20.43 (RRP).

Gu mousses

Calling all those with a sweet-tooth! If you only do one thing this month, make sure you try out the new Gu mousses.

Flavours such as raspberry and chocolate, passion fruit, mango and lime, and simple chocolate are bound to get you coming back for more. And they're presented in single serve pots so you can choose as many or as few as you want!

Deliciously indulgent, they come with their own plastic spoon and are designed to be devoured whenever and wherever you are! You can squeeze one into your handbag or your lunchbox or wherever else you fancy.

You can buy them at your local supermarket for the RRP of £1.19. We know you’ll want to give them a go!

Mighty Spice Cookbook

Finally, no product round-up would be complete without a cookbook. And this one comes from John Gregory-Smith whose mission is to get everyone cooking with spices. Mighty Spice Cookbook is his first book and aims to demystify spices and demonstrate how easy to use they are.

Gregory-Smith uses a maximum of five spices per recipe so they’re not too complicated and the ingredients are easy to find. Having travelled the world researching spices, Gregory-Smith’s recipes are drawn from a range of cuisines including South America, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.

Recipes include Vietnamese Star Anise and Lemongrass Chicken Claypot, Mexican Chicken with Yogurt and Almonds, and Chilli and Basil Scallops. We think they sound lip-smackingly fantastic!

You can pick up a copy of the book from most booksellers. The RRP is £20.
