Cold brew coffee and tonic recipe

Cold brew coffee and tonic recipe

This cold brew and tonic is the cocktail twist you didn’t know you needed: the caffeinated offspring of a classic Espresso Martini and a crisp, refreshing gin and tonic.

To layer your coffee liqueur on top, giving it a fancy twist, try this simple mixologists’ trick: pour it into the glass over the back of a spoon, so it settles over the G&T rather than sinking down. Don't worry if it doesn’t look perfect – the drink will be just as delicious.

Note: Use a generous amount of ice when making this recipe. The more you pack in, the slower it will melt.

Step-by-step

  1. Pack a large glass with ice, then pour over the dry gin. Top with the tonic water and stir gently.
  2. Carefully add the coffee liqueur on top, letting it settle on the surface. To float the liqueur, slowly pour it over the back of a spoon and watch as it delicately layers on top of the tonic water.
  3. Garnish with a fresh orange wheel to serve.
