Slow-cooker spaghetti bolognese recipe

This slow-cooker version of a spaghetti bolognese should be in everyone's repertoire. A family favourite, this recipe has minimal hands-on cooking time and can be left to bubble away until it's time for dinner.

Ingredients

  • 450 g minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 stick celery, sliced
  • 100 ml red wine
  • 1 x 400g/14oz tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 sprig rosemary, leaves chopped
  • 300 g spaghetti
  • 15.9 oz minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 stick celery, sliced
  • 3.5 fl oz red wine
  • 1 x 400g/14oz tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 sprig rosemary, leaves chopped
  • 10.6 oz spaghetti
  • 15.9 oz minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 stick celery, sliced
  • 0.4 cup red wine
  • 1 x 400g/14oz tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 sprig rosemary, leaves chopped
  • 10.6 oz spaghetti

Step-by-step

  1. Fry the mince, onion and garlic to brown, and stir in the beef stock cube. Add all the remaining ingredients except the spaghetti and place in a slow cooker. Set on high and cook for 4 hours or cook on low for 8 hours.
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions and serve with the bolognese.
