Joe Simmonds

Joe Simmonds is head chef at The Beach at Bude, a sixteen bedroom boutique hotel which overlooks Summerleaze Beach in north Cornwall. His love of fresh local ingredients combined with his knowledge of classical techniques shines through in his recipes. Originally from Yorkshire, Joe realised he wanted to become a chef at the age of 16 when he started an apprenticeship at a local pub in Hebden Bridge. After a stint working in Majorca, and with Sam Moody at the Michelin-starred Priory Hotel in Bath, Joe joined the team at The Beach when the hotel’s restaurant opened in autumn 2014.
