Reuben Riffel

South African Chef Reuben Riffel is the owner and head chef at Reuben's restaurant in Franschhoek, in the Western Cape. He has won numerous awards, including the Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year 2004 (Eat out Johnnie Walker Restaurant awards). Reuben has also written two cookbooks: Food is Time Travel and Reuben Cooks Local. His philosophy on food is to keep things simple by bringing out the natural flavours of the produce and, when combining flavours, to strive for perfect balance.
