If lamb is one of your favourite meats, make sure you take a look at our five favourite lamb recipes.

Lamb is a popular meat, enjoyed by many. So if you’re pondering what to do with it this week, here's our round up of our favourite lamb recipes to give you some inspiration.

1. Mark Sargeant's lamb wellington

A cracking centrepiece to any dinner party, Mark Sargeant’s lamb wellington (pictured above) encases tender canons in a rich ‘duxelle’ (mushrooms sautéed in butter) and all-butter puff pastry. Patience and a good egg wash are the keys to a successful wellington, so make sure you have both!

2. Lucy Cufflin’s lamb shanks

If we are lucky enough to see any more sunshine over the next few weeks and you love lamb shanks, this recipe from Lucy Cufflin is the perfect dish to serve. Instead of firing up the barbecue, these beautiful garlicky, lemony, olive oil, Mediterranean flavours are ideal for a bit of al fresco dining.

If you’re entertaining guests, simply pop the lamb shanks in the oven for an hour and a half, open a bottle of wine and relax! Then serve the lamb with crisp salad or fresh vegetables and crusty bread. Delicious!

3. Lotte Duncan’s lamb pie

Everyone loves a hearty pie and you really can’t beat this one from Lotte Duncan. It uses a leg of lamb combined with caramelised onions, carrots and lots of herbs - parsley, thyme, bay leaf and rosemary.

But the superb flavours don’t end there as this recipe includes a fruity twist with the additions of cranberry, pears and orange zest and juice, plus honey or quince jelly. It may take a little time to put together, but we can assure you it will be worth it.

Watch your family dive into this scrumptious pie or even turn it into a simple stew with a jacket potato or fluffy mash.
