This April, we're delighted to be partnering with Hokan to offer loveFOOD readers the chance to win one of three gift sets – including three stoneware bowls (in a colour of your choice), a tea towel and an apron – worth over £80 each.
Each gift set includes three sustainable, stackable, stylish stoneware bowls (in 400ml, 600ml and 1 litre sizes). As the size of each bowl is determined by volume, not diameter, there’s a one-size fits-all interlocking lid for easy storage.
Hokan was established by film producer and father-of-two Alistair Donald, who believes that being more efficient in the kitchen helps to avoid unnecessary food waste. He swapped leaning towers of cling-filmed bowls and tubs for a practical, plastic-free solution that's not only easily stackable, but can also be used to cook, bake and serve (then store and save) food. The lids also serve as side plates, too.
For a sustainable, BPA-free household, Hokan offers a unique alternative to storage solutions with potential harmful pollutants. Hokan bowls are made from stoneware, dense pottery that's fired at high temperatures, making them non-porous and, consequently, odour- and stain-free (which can’t be said of plastic alternatives).
Oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, Hokan bowls heat evenly and retain heat efficiently. Cooking and baking with the lid on keeps moisture in and maintains a stable temperature, while taking the lid off allows the top of food to crust or brown. The range is perfect for all one-pot wonders, from stews and curries to pasta, gratins, soups, risotto and individual pies.
Hokan isn’t just a pretty face, either. Beautiful enough to be taken straight from the oven, fridge or microwave to the table, a dark cupboard is no place for these culinary works of art.
We have three Hokan gift sets to give away. To find out more about Hokan, visit the website.
