From wasabi to fried chicken, it's safe to say that Oreo has come up with some surprising flavors over the years. With new variations popping up every few months – and with offerings ranging from the delectable to the dubious – there's a cookie perfectly suited to every possible palate. As Oreo unveils its latest collaboration with actor and singer Selena Gomez, we've rounded up the most amazing releases and limited-edition flavors of all time.

Click or scroll through our gallery and join us to discover the tastiest Oreo flavors the world has ever seen – counting down to the best of them all.

We've based our ranking on the enduring popularity of each flavor in its place of origin and beyond, and on the opinions of our well-traveled (and well-fed) team. The list is unavoidably subjective.

The cookie giant teamed up with actor and singer Selena Gomez in May 2025 to release a style inspired by her love of horchata (a Mexican rice-based beverage). The cinnamon sugar–infused cookie features a layer of chocolate and cinnamon creme over a separate layer of sweetened condensed milk–flavored creme, all sandwiched between two chocolate cinnamon wafers. Irresistibly sweet and spicy, it’s a limited-edition release – but one many early reviewers are already calling to be made permanent. Perhaps it'll feature higher up in our list when we've had the chance to try it?

In 2018, Oreo released a product so strange that many believed it to be fake. However, luckily for fans of the brand's more unusual flavors, it turned out to be perfectly real. For a short period of time, cookie fans were able to purchase Wasabi Oreos in China. One of Oreo's boldest creations to date, the tongue-tingling treats came filled with a spicy wasabi creme.

If you think Wasabi Oreos were a step too far, look away now! Simultaneously sweet and savory, Hot Chicken Wing Oreos weren't for the faint of heart. The heady variety – featuring wing-flavored creme sandwiched inside two Original chocolate cookies – was once available in China. If you want to see what it tasted like, try pairing some classic Oreo cookies with a packet of chicken-flavored potato chips.

This eye-catching limited-edition variety consisted of two classic Golden cookies filled with a pink-and-green watermelon creme. The colorful treats debuted in 2013 – but unfortunately, those who tried them thought the watermelon flavor was a little lacking. Rather than being fresh and juicy, some said that it was overly sweet and artificial.

The year 2014 saw the launch of a limited-edition favorite – Root Beer Float Oreos. The nostalgic treats featured a sweet root beer and vanilla–flavored creme, sandwiched between two Golden cookies. It may sound a little unconventional, but the flavor was a big hit; fans loved the subtle root beer aftertaste. Sadly, the flavor hasn't reappeared on supermarket shelves since.

While Oreo isn't shy when it comes to trying out new flavors, it doesn't usually experiment with new shapes – preferring to keep its signature cookies recognizably round. In 2010, however, the brand released limited-edition Football Oreo cookies, American football–shaped takes on its Original fondant-filled cookies.

Oreo is no stranger to teaming up with other cult-favorite snack brands – and this tasty collaboration with Swedish Fish was a memorable one. In 2016, the cookie company decided to surprise its US fans by releasing Swedish Fish Oreos: Original cookie treats filled with a cherry-flavored fondant that looked rather radioactive.

Inspired by the retro diner dessert, this limited-edition flavor hit supermarket shelves back in 2013. Each Banana Split Oreo featured a colorful strawberry and banana–flavored creme, sandwiched between one Golden cookie and one Original chocolate cookie. All that was missing was the cherry on top!

Lip-puckering sweets Sour Patch Kids made their way into Oreos in 2024. Flavored like the sweet and sour candies, these sugary treats featured colorful sprinkles – both in the creme filling, and in the Golden cookies sandwiching them together. The limited-edition flavor, which was released in the US only, was fruity, with a slightly tart bite on top of the sweetness. Tasters were divided over whether it was worth going back for more.

If you think Oreo's regular cookies aren't sweet enough as they are, you'd have loved this tooth-numbingly sugary offering, released back in 2015. Cotton Candy Oreos consisted of two Golden cookies, held together by a filling of pink-and-blue cotton candy fondant. All the fun of the fair, in one neat little bite!

This limited-edition flavor is inspired by the American kids’ dessert, dirt cake, which traditionally combines crumbled Oreo cookies, gummy worm sweets, and vanilla or chocolate pudding, creating a dirt-like consistency. A real treat of a snack, Dirt Cake Oreos launched in February 2024 – featuring Original cookies filled with both brownie-flavored creme and chocolate creme, all topped off with playful, gummy worm–inspired sprinkles.

Candy corns are a divisive treat in the US; people either love them or hate them. Unsurprisingly, the same went for Candy Corn Oreos, which first hit supermarket shelves in 2012. The polarizing limited-edition offering saw Golden vanilla cookies filled with an orange-and-yellow candy corn creme. Something must have gone right, as they've been brought back several times since.

Featuring two Golden Oreo cookies and a seasonal gingerbread-flavored creme filling, this limited-edition variety was released in time for 2012’s holiday season. And that’s exactly what it tasted like: Christmas! These sweetly spiced cookies proved so popular that they’ve returned to supermarket shelves in the US since, usually in the lead-up to the festive period.

Available in the US, this popular offering debuted for the first time in 2020. It's a variety that does what it says on the packet, pairing Oreo's Original chocolate cookies with a sweet, delicious caramel and coconut creme. The combination proved irresistible, with the flavor amassing a tribe of loyal fans.

In 2014, two childhood favorites were combined to create a true gem of a flavor. An ode to classic Rice Krispie Treats, limited-edition Marshmallow Crispy Oreos featured a marshmallow-flavored creme filling – complete with crispy cereal bits – sandwiched between two Golden vanilla cookies.

In Japan, you’ll find a wide array of matcha-flavored Oreo styles. Amongst them were these limited-edition Sakura Matcha cookies, which launched in 2020. They were introduced to coincide with Japan’s cherry blossom (Sakura) season – and they featured two pink cookies filled with a green matcha creme. They launched alongside an equally tempting Peach Oolong Tea flavor.

In 2015, Oreo USA released a brightly colored Key Lime Pie variety, just in time for summer. The limited-edition flavor featured rare Oreo Graham cookies, held together by a Key lime pie–flavored creme, in homage to the classic Florida Keys dessert. Fans loved the tartness of the fondant and the buttery crunch of the cookies.

In 2016, Mondelēz International (Oreo's parent company) asked the British public which new flavor they’d like to see from Oreo – and 43% of respondents demanded brownie batter. The result was the chocolatey, fudge-like flavor Choc'o Brownie, which is still on sale in the UK now. Brownie batter has been available as a US flavor in the past, launching in 2015, but the variety isn't currently available for Americans to get their hands on.

Released in 2011, these creamy, flavor-packed berry treats were like chocolate-covered strawberries in cookie form. Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreos saw the brand's Original chocolate cookies filled with a rich berry fondant. Oreo has dabbled with a few other ice cream–inspired varieties over the years too, including Malaysia's Orange Ice Cream flavor and the USA's Neapolitan offering (which also features on this list).

Fancy something a little different? This popular choice is guaranteed to take movie nights on the sofa up a notch. Coated in Oreo pieces, these crunchy kernels of popcorn can be found in the US only. They're the perfect combination of sweet and savory – just like the classic movie theater treat they're based on.

The year a solar eclipse was due to occur in the US was undoubtedly the perfect time to release Space Dunk Oreos. Launched in January 2024 for a limited time, the cookies featured a galactic pink-and-blue creme filling with a marshmallow flavor. For an extra cosmic touch, popping candy was baked right into the cookies to give each bite a fizzing sensation. Even better, one lucky person could win the chance to dunk the cookies nine miles in the air by boarding the world’s first carbon-neutral spaceflight.

Strawberry shortcake is a successful limited-edition flavor that's made the rounds in the USA a couple of times since it was first introduced. A summery combination of intensely flavorsome strawberry creme filling and buttery Golden cookies, the pairing is reminiscent of the classic dessert.

Aimed at iced coffee lovers, this cookie flavor was launched in the US in April 2022. Inspired by the chocolatey coffeehouse favorite, it saw a rich layer of mocha latte fondant and a layer of caramel creme sandwiched inside two Original chocolate cookies. Irresistibly sweet, they paired perfectly with a cup of Joe.

If you prefer your filling spread a little thinner, these tiramisu-flavored Oreo Thins could be for you. The thin, crisp cookies are sandwiched with a little less filling than standard Oreos, and we think they work perfectly with the rich coffee flavor of the classic Italian dessert. Oreo claims you'll get fewer crumbs when you eat these thin cookies, too. Released in the US in 2024, this flavor had previously been available in China and South Korea.

Another treat designed with coffee lovers in mind, Oreo's Java Chip flavor launched in 2021 – and it was a truly tasty creation. The variety featured two Original Oreo cookies, filled with a coffee-flavored creme loaded with crunchy chocolate chips. Who wouldn’t want to dunk one of these into a cup of coffee?

In 2022, Oreo released this nostalgic summertime flavor in the US – and fans went wild. Inspired by the classic ice cream variety, it featured waffle cone–flavored cookies filled with a layer each of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate fondant. They were released to coincide with National Ice Cream Day, which is celebrated annually in America on the third Sunday of July.

Featuring two cinnamon cookies filled with a frosting-style creme, this warming, sweet flavor was well-loved – but much like many of Oreo’s limited-edition items, it was short-lived. Inspired by one of the world’s favorite pastries, Cinnamon Bun Oreos were originally released in 2016. Sadly, they haven't made a comeback since.

Popping candy is what fireworks taste of – or at least that's what Oreo decided when it launched limited-edition Firework Oreos in 2017, just in time for America's Fourth of July celebrations. To fans' delight, the tongue-tingling treats (which, aside from the popping candy, are just like Original Oreos) have made a few comebacks since then.

Not so much a flavor as an especially Christmassy makeover, Oreo’s 2024 release for the winter holidays was double stuffed with red and green creme filling – and it came in a series of fun designs. The traditional Oreo logo was pushed aside in favor of candy canes, penguins, gingerbread men, snowmen, and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, with cute cutouts allowing the red filling to poke through.

These brightly colored chocolate and cream cheese cookies were taken out of circulation in 2020 – but they will live on forever in our hearts. One of the best seasonal Oreo flavors ever, they were an ode to the classic American red velvet cake. The perfect balance of tangy and sweet, they tasted almost as good as the real thing.

Brand collaborations are responsible for some of the best (and sometimes weirdest) flavor combinations out there. Happily, this is one of the best. Launched in the US in the summer of 2022, these crowd-pleasing cookies were a mash-up of two icons. Half Ritz cracker topped with peanut butter, half Oreo cookie and creme, they were wholly irresistible.

If you’re a fan of super-sweet treats, you’ll adore these Toffee Crunch Oreos. The drool-worthy cookies launched in 2022, and they've remained a popular variety ever since. To make them, two Original Oreo cookies are filled with a toffee-flavored creme – complete with sugar crystals, which give them their signature crunch.

This seasonal favorite, first released in the US for Christmas 2020, was something special. After all, what could be more indulgent than Oreo cookies filled with layers of brownie, cookie dough, and Original creme? The flavor-packed variety makes a return to supermarket shelves every now and again – but die-hard fans frequently call for it to become a mainstay.

This fabulous cookie creation first launched in the US in 2018 as a limited-edition flavor – but it proved so popular that Oreo brought it back the following summer. Taking inspiration from the fruity dessert, Blueberry Pie Oreos were another variety that featured cult-favorite Graham cookies. The filling was a muted blue color, with a delicious blueberry taste.

Take two Original Oreo cookies, double up on the fillings – combining chocolate and marshmallow – and you'll get a treat that tastes just like a mug of hot chocolate. Hot Cocoa Oreos quickly became a favorite; however, the festive variety took a five-year hiatus between its release in 2018 and 2023, when it next appeared on shelves. Fortunately for fans of the seasonal filling, the cookies came back again in 2024.

Oreo’s signature vanilla creme has a cult following of its own – so it's no surprise that fans were thrilled when the brand released its The Most Stuf variety in 2019. These fully loaded cookies contain about four times as much creme filling as standard Oreos. As you'd expect, they're absolutely delicious (and brilliant for dunking).

This may not be the most outrageous flavor Oreo has ever launched – but it was one of its most popular. The lemon-laced variety was among a slew of limited-edition cookies released by the brand in 2012. The sweet vanilla notes of the Golden cookies paired perfectly with the tangy lemon creme filling, and they were such a success that they made a comeback the following year.

All the fun of roasting s'mores over a fire, but without a tent or flame in sight! That's what this limited-edition flavor brought cookie fans when it debuted in the US in 2015. S'mOreos consist of two Graham cracker cookies, filled with layers of chocolate and marshmallow creme – and they continue to be a bestseller to this day.

Taking Original Oreo cookies up a notch, Oreo Twists feature two classic cookies, either filled with a vanilla and raspberry creme or a vanilla and caramel creme. The cookies launched in the UK in 2022 and are still available from major UK supermarkets. What better varieties to practice the twist, lick and dunk routine with?

Oreo has made it its mission to reach a wide variety of customers – which is why its Original cookies are both vegan and kosher. The brand has also released Gluten Free Oreos, which fans say are just as tasty as the classic version. Not only that, but you can buy them in both regular and Double Stuf (with extra filling) varieties.

Inspired by the classic cinnamon sugar treats you’d typically find at a fairground, this US-only flavor was released in March 2024. The fried dough–flavored cookies come complete with a churro-inspired creme filling – and as you’d expect, they're incredibly sweet. Oreo superfans may recognize Churro Oreos from a competition the brand launched in 2019; people were challenged to identify a mystery flavor (which turned out to Churro) for the chance to win $50,000.

Jumping on the autumnal pumpkin spice trend, Oreo launched this seasonal treat across the US in 2014. The variety was discontinued in 2017, only to be brought back five years later. Now available each year as the leaves start to turn brown, Pumpkin Spice Oreos consist of two Golden cookies, filled with a rich pumpkin spice-flavored creme. Dunk one in a mug of coffee for a cold-weather taste sensation.

Oreo launches a festive flavor every Christmas – but we think this delicious White Fudge Covered offering takes the crown. Here, Original Oreo cookies are dunked into a sweet white fudge, forming a tasty hard shell. The flavor has popped up on supermarket shelves for the last few years, and it continues to be a popular holiday choice in the US.

Oreos transformed into a cake? Yes, please! This soft-baked twist on the classic treat first launched in 2007, but disappeared in 2012 – much to fans' dismay. However, Cakesters made a triumphant return to supermarkets in late 2022, along with an equally delicious salty-sweet version: Nutter Butter Cakesters.

Launched in 2015, the Oreo Thins range has been popular for almost a decade. Crispy and delicious, Thins are 66% thinner than classic Oreos. They come in a whole host of flavors, including Original, Golden and Lemon. You can still get your hands on them in the US.

They say that less is more – but we don't think this applies to Oreos. The Most Oreo Oreo, a limited-edition favorite that launched in 2023, featured cookies that were quite literally full of themselves. It's exactly as it sounds; Original Oreo cookies were stuffed with a filling of crumbled Oreos and creme. The extravagant offering went down a storm with fans.

How do you eat your Original Oreos? You might do the 'twist and lick' or dunk them in milk – or perhaps you follow in the footsteps of Hallie and Annie from the 1998 film The Parent Trap and dip them into peanut butter? Oreo brought this salty-sweet flavor combination to life when it launched its amazingly popular Peanut Butter variety, which sees a delicious peanut butter creme sandwiched between two Original cookies. You can also buy Double Stuf Peanut Butter Oreos and Peanut Butter Oreo Cakesters.

Oreos filled with chocolate creme are a classic sweet treat – but did you know that the cookie brand didn't release this flavor until 2001? Over 20 years later, Chocolate Oreos are as popular as ever, all thanks to that extra-rich, ultra-chocolatey flavor. They're now available across the globe. Perfect dunking material!

It was only a matter of time before Oreos got a minty makeover. Mint Oreos were first introduced as a limited-edition flavor in 1985 – but since they joined Oreo's permanent flavor lineup, they've been one of the brand's bestsellers. Nowadays you can get the minty fresh flavor in a few of Oreo’s signature varieties, like Double Stuf and Thins.

It’s hard to imagine the world of cookies without Oreo’s Golden variety. The craveable cookies first launched in 2004, and they've been delighting cookie fans ever since. Their beauty lies in their simplicity; each treat consists of two vanilla cookies filled with a classic Oreo creme. Nowadays you can get Golden Oreos in a whole host of different forms, including Thins and Minis.

These legendary cookies first came onto the scene in 1974. Though they were initially only available in the US, they're now sold in multiple countries around the world – though they're not always known by the same name (in the UK, they're called Double Creme Oreos). They're just like Original Oreos, but they come fully loaded with twice the amount of creme.

You simply can't beat an Original Oreo. These classic cookies have been a household staple since launching in the US in 1912 – and over a century later, they're enjoyed all over the world. Featuring two chocolate-flavored cookies filled with a sweet vanilla creme, these iconic treats are as loved today as they were back in the old days.
